When I found out that other programs use methods designed for getting rid of a drive and will leave it a mess I turned to Wipe It. It uses custom methods designed to recondition the drive - not hurt it. It was helpful to know that Wipe It works on all drives, because what I really wanted it for was my USB thumb drive. It's a small download, easy to use and displays every step of the way. If you're looking for a drive sanitizer then this is it.
