Small, freeware, full-featured scheduler, that can launch applications and open documents at specified time or with specified frequency. Can be started as a system service or as a regular standalone application. This is a UNIX Cron ported to Windows. It is not resource demanding, and it can run even on very older PCs without any noticeable performance degradation. We have never seen it's service to allocate more than 150k of operative memory.

One of the simplest ways to get anacron if you dont want to bother with cygwin and such things on your windows box. Very simple to configure. Can run tasks in background, without interrupting with the gui. Allows to place the 'startcron' into the startup folder for convenience of having the cron service start when OS loads.
