The difference between land developers and building developers is that building developers will often place an emphasis on acquiring building for the purpose of renovating or repairing them. Once the building has been properly repaired, the goal of many real estate developers is to resell it for a higher profit. In addition to this, some building developers will turn the buildings into structures that can be used for rentals, thereby increasing their own cash flow. Both building developers and land developers may need permits in order to perform various types of construction, and they must also follow local zoning laws.
