Review by Tom Betress: I purchased Hard Drive Mechanic. I am a network engineer, teach in the computer science division at a college and have my own consulting business. I have come across many problems that appear to have no explanation for cause and sometimes no FIX either. I was working on a machine for a company that had a "hard drive crash". All their accounting information was on there with no backup. Couldn't access the drive no matter what utilities I tried. thought it was a gonner for sure. I tried Norton Util, MicroScope, etc., and no luck. At my local computer store Ind saw they had Hard Drive Mechanic, figured I had nothing to loose and my customer obviously couldn't be in any worst condition. The company announces the software as free. After you install it and try to kill a process a popup informs that only the pro version which is paid can do the job. This is a bad fait commercial
The software is not bad, but the support and the message boards are a disaster. The administration is heavy handed and arbitrary in their decisions. Trying to get a real answer to a question
Sadly I have to agree with HJ. Stay away from the associated message board if you can, and use Fertility Friend software if you want a free version of the Ovusoft program.
Most CORRUPT Software. Stay away from it. After locking your files, forces you to but the buy the license. And no option to uninstall.
