Grissom: The good news is that I spent three full days downloading and evaluating all web based catalogs that I could find on the internet and Streamcat was hands-down absolutely the best for a stationary image catalog. The instructions were well written and very easy to understand. It is also the best looking and most efficient site realestate usage image catalog that I have ever seen. Review by Reck: This tool maybe has a lot of potential but it gives too much trouble. I was trying to connect to a PostgreSQL database running on a SuSe linux server from both a SuSe distribution and a Mandriva distribution. I couldn't get this working with the ODBC driver. If I try this directly with ODBC, no problems whatsoever. If I try this with DBDesigner, I can connect if the database is empty. From the minute there's something in the database, the connection is closed and the program hangs. It wasn't easy to install the program either. I had to install additional libraries (fair enough), fondle with symbolic links etc etc just to be able to launch it. The program also depends on old versions of certain libraries that haven't been included in my d... Make your database operation just in snap! No need to create web forms! This software can make it in seconds! I would think to replace scaffold function of CakePHP with it.
