When my hard drive would no longer boot I purchased the Hard Drive Mechanic to try and repair it myself. At first, I couldn't repair my PC and thought the program didn't work. After another try, the Hard Drive Mechanic found FAT errors and partition table damage. Thank God that it fixed the problems automatically because I don't know what I'm doing. I figured I would try this drive mechanic software before I reformat the disk and loose all my data. I'm happy to say that my hard drive is back working and I was able to recover everything. The problem was a "damaged partition table" and crossed linked files.. or something like that. For anyone thinking about buying the hard drive mechanic... it comes with a 30 day money back guarantee.
